Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the interaction effects between level neuroticism of high vs. low and context of individual vs. group by using colored Kinetic House-Tree-Person test (colored K-HTP). The participants were recruited total 81 college students attending K university in Seoul. The subjects participated in both Colored K-HTP as individual drawing and group K-HTP as collaborative drawing. Correlation analysis, paired t-test, and two-way ANOVA were used to compare how FEATS (Formal Elements Art Therapy Scale) scores were different between individual and collaborative drawing. The results of this study as follows: firstly, there were individual drawing scored higher than group drawing for the ¡®space¡¯, ¡®integration¡¯, and ¡®person¡¯. Secondly, there were group drawing scored higher than individual drawing for the ¡®color fit¡¯, ¡®implied energy¡¯, and ¡®realism¡¯. Thirdly, the low level of neuroticism students gained high scores from ¡®integration¡¯. Fourthly, the high level of neuroticism students drew abundant details on individual drawings while they drew insufficiently details on group drawings. The results of this study are provided implications for how to conduct context of projective drawing test. This study can be useful for understanding projective drawings and there is a need to expand the future research.
